Nuclear fusion is a nuclear reaction in which two or more atomic nuclei collide and fuse to form a new type of atomic nucleus. Compared to that of nuclear fission where nuclear nuclei slip in collisions, used in Nuclear powerplats and atom fission bombs.

Nuclear fusion is what provides and sustains life on Earth. Since the energy that the Sun emits into space is produced by nuclear fusion reactions taking place in its core with collisions of hydrogen nuclei and the formation of helium nuclei.
