Stockholm University: Viking Age dragon’s head – “a sensational discovery”

In May 2015 a unique dragon’s head was found during an excavation in the Viking Age harbour on the island of Birka, which lies a few miles from Stockholm. The find is described as “sensational” by Lena Holmquist, Associate Professor at Stockholm University and one of the archaeologists that discovered the Viking Age dragon’s head.
