This NASA Hangout focuses on wildfires and its relation to global warming and a warmer Earth. Since wildfires follow this simple but dangerous equation: Hotter, dryer conditions + more people in the world = a greater likelihood of more ferocious wildfires.

In this hangout, NASA scientists and other experts discuss changes expected in the coming decades in the trends of wildfires and climate change as temperatures rise, seasons gradually shift and precipitation patterns vary. Rising global temperatures could mean that even areas not accustomed to seeing wildfires could be at risk in the future.
